Kimberly Bates
Kimberly Bates joined Bates Investigations as a Private Investigator in 1999 and is now the President and owner/manager. She graduated in 1997 from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She is a Private Investigator licensed by the Texas Department of Public Safety Private Security Bureau as well as a member of the Texas Association of Licensed Investigators, the National Council of Investigation & Security Services, the Florida Association of Licensed Investigators, the California Association of Licensed Investigators and the World Association of Detectives. In 2015, Kimberly joined the ranks of an elite few by becoming a Texas Board Certified Investigator (TBCI) through the Texas Association of Licensed Investigators. Kimberly specializes in complete, thorough background and asset investigations of individuals and businesses.
Ken Bates
Ken Bates is the Founder and Senior Investigative Advisor of Bates Investigations. He was a police officer with the Austin Police Department for nine years before becoming licensed as a Private Investigator in 1983. He founded Bates Investigations in 1988. He is qualified as an expert witness regarding Electronic Countermeasures before Grand Juries in Federal and State Courts. He is a Private Investigator licensed by the Texas Department of Public Safety Private Security Bureau as well as a former member of the National Association of Legal Investigators, the American Society for Industrial Security, and the International Association of Bomb Technicians & Investigators. Ken is currently enjoying his retirement and is brought in to consult when needed.
Elizabeth Armstrong
Elizabeth Armstrong joined Bates Investigations as an administrative assistant in 2018 and trained to become a private investigator in 2022. She graduated in 2024 from the Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science in Management. She has been a Private Investigator licensed by the Texas Department of Public Safety Private Security Bureau since March 2022. Elizabeth brings a strong legal foundation to her investigative work as a Juris Doctor candidate at the University of Colorado Law School. She will graduate in May 2027.
